Sunrise Rotary Foundation


The Sunrise Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that supports the efforts of the Clackamas Sunrise Rotary to achieve the mission of having fun while providing advantages, mainly for our youth – in our local Clackamas community and throughout the world.  This is accomplished by providing opportunity and support through educational tools, scholarships, training, mentoring and financial support.

We Support Our Local Clackamas and International Communities


  • Support Putnam HS Senior Graduation functions
  • Monthly Recognition of a Putnam HS student who exemplifies Service Above Self
  • Provide school supplies, backpacks, winter coats to Alder Creek MS feeder schools
  • Provide nearly 500 Dictionaries and Thesauruses to local 3rd Grade students
  • Character education with middle school student Using Rotary’s 4-Way Test
  • Support “Battle of the Books” Reading Competition at Oak Grove Elementary
  • Participate twice annually in road cleaning in the “Adopt A Road” Project on SE 122nd  Between Sunnyside Rd & Hubbard Rd
  • Support events, programs and provide College Scholarships for P.A.C.E. students (Parenting, Academics, Careers, and Education)
  • Provide College Scholarships for HS Students Interested in a medical career


  • Provide Inbound and Outbound Foreign Youth Exchange Programs through Putnam High School for one year or one month international exchange programs
  • Support Rotary’s $200 million effort for Global Polio Eradication
  • Support Computer project in Honduras, Water and wheelchair projects in Guatemala
  • Support Rotary’s international Scholarship programs to help further World Peace and understanding
  • Provide opportunity for members to be Involved in world health, hunger, and Humanity projects with other Rotarians

The Foundation’s Humanitarian Programs also fund other international Rotary club and district projects to improve the quality of life, providing health care, clean water, food, education, and other essential needs primarily in the developing world. One of the major Humanitarian Programs is PolioPlus, which seeks to eradicate the polio virus worldwide. Through its Educational Programs, the Foundation provides funding for some 1,200 students to study abroad each year. Grants are also awarded to university teachers to teach in developing countries and for exchanges of business and professional people. Former participants in the Foundation’s programs have the opportunity to continue their affiliation with Rotary as Foundation Alumni. The Rotary Foundation is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. Included in this section is information pertaining to the history of The Rotary Foundation, its financial support, its Alumni programs, training and resources, and the SHARE system.
